Will trading 'is fairly flat'

The number of individuals making a Will as part of their financial planning is not going up or down at the present time.

This is according to Paul Sharpe, the chairman of the Institute of Professional Willwriters, who stated there is usually a general downward trend whenever the state of the economy is weak, but this does not seem to be the case currently.

He explained this could be due to the fact households believe they have more pressing needs at the moment than drafting a Will.

Mr Sharpe declared: "The Code of Practice that our members work to became approved by the Office of Fair Trading last year and those that promote this fact are reporting that it's attractive to customers."

Brian McMillan, director general of The Society of Will Writers, recently told those considering making a Will not to go for the cheapest option, as this will not provide good value for money because it could lead to complications in the future.
