Solicitors 'can ease residential conveyancing process'
Those involved in the sale or purchase of a home have been reminded of the importance of taking advice from solicitors on the residential conveyancing procedure.

The Law Society has advised that lawyers can play a key role in providing knowledgeable and impartial counsel on what can be an extremely important transaction.

It stated that residential conveyancing is a "complex process" which requires the needs of buyer, seller and lender to be considered, a service which can only be provided by qualified solicitors.

This echoes recent advice from price comparison website moneysupermarket.com, which described conveyancing as a "notoriously cumbersome" procedure which requires expert advice.

Paul Marsh, lead Law Society spokesperson on property issues, stated that this is particularly true now due to the additional complications brought on by the economic slump.

He said: "The professional integrity and legal skills which solicitors traditionally bring to the housing market are … probably more important than ever."ADNFCR-2347-ID-19423950-ADNFCR
