More than £30 million spent on taxis for NHS patients |

Date: 24 October 2011 Author: Sandra Patton
Figures have been published to show that more than £30million has been spent on taxis for NHS patients since 2008 because of a shortage of official non-emergency transport. Ashton KCJ’s Sandra Patton, a specialist in the medical injury team, comments: “This not only has implications for patient safety, and there are cases where ill patients who need medical support have been transferred by taxi rather than ambulance, but in a cash-strapped NHS it is clearly vital to target resources where they are needed, especially into nursing staff”.
If you have suffered a medical injury, whatever the circumstances, the team at Ashton KCJ will be happy to help.
