Father wins damages following daughter's death in crash
A father has won a £25,000 claim for compensation following the death of his daughter in a car accident.

Louise Jones was among four teenagers who were killed in a crash in Powys and survivor Craig Ramshaw was convicted of careless driving.

Terry Jones, Louise's father, has now won a civil action case and will be paid £25,000 as a result of the psychiatric injuries caused by the event, BBC News reports.

"It's made people sit up and realise the damage that has been done to me and the other parents," Mr Jones commented.

He had previously told the court: "All my wife and myself want to do is to die."

It is expected that the compensation will be paid by the insurers of Mr Ramshaw.

Hannah Rutterford, a partner in the KCJ personal injury team who specialises in fatal accident claims, said: "Money will never compensate for the loss of a loved one, but bringing a claim not only helps ease the financial burden facing dependents, but can also help them to obtain answers to questions about the incident that otherwise may go unanswered. It is important to seek specialist legal advice where someone else may be at fault."

This comes shortly after bus crash victim David Horsfield launched a personal injury claim after he suffered a fractured neck and other issues, with Sheffield newspaper the Star reporting he is seeking £300,000.

If you've suffered an injury as the result of an accident, the personal injury team at KCJ will be happy to advise you on whether you have a claim.ADNFCR-2347-ID-800722759-ADNFCR
