Bus crash victim launches personal injury claim

A man who was injured in a crash between a bus and a van has launched a claim for personal injury compensation worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.

David Horsfield, 68, wants £300,000 after he was thrown to the floor in the incident and suffered injuries including a fractured neck and a severe adjustment depressive disorder.

According to a report by Sheffield newspaper the Star, Mr Horsfield is partly paralysed as a result of the crash.

Hovis lorry driver Kevin Kiely has already been convicted of driving without due care and attention and was fined £2,000.

The writ issued by lawyers on behalf of Mr Horsfield claims he requires a wide range of equipment and aids in order to get around due to the injuries he sustained in the crash.

This comes after the Yorkshire Post reported that cyclist Peter Vaughan is to launch legal action following an accident which left him with fractures to his skull and legs.
