Charity worker wins compensation over migraines

A woman has won her claim for compensation over her employer after suffering migraines as a result of the lighting used in her office.

Genevieve Bove received a settlement of over £20,000 due to being made ill by the fluorescent lighting at the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham.

She added that the headaches she suffered as a result of her workplace led to her leaving her job.

"The whole experience has made me ill," Ms Bowe commented after the case.

It was claimed that charity chief John Gallanders ignored her requests for the lighting in the office to be changed and even organised meetings with her in a room featuring the fluorescent bulbs, knowing they gave her migraines.

Earlier this month, the Goole Courier reported on the case of Bruce Cooper, who is taking legal action against former employer Hanson Support Services due to claims he is suffering from asbestos-related illnesses.
