Hit and run victim secures right to compensation
The victim of a hit and run road accident has won the right to claim personal injury compensation following a court ruling.

Joiner Daniel Ince was crossing a road when he was hit by a BMW in September 2004, according to the Ealing Gazette.

The victim sustained terrible head injuries which mean he is no longer able to look after himself and he is still living in a brain injury rehabilitation unit.

A firefighter witnessed the incident and was able to help identify the driver, which resulted in a personal injury compensation claim being lodged against his insurer.

This week, 75 per cent liability was admitted by the unnamed motorist, paving the way for Mr Ince to be paid a significant amount to cover his future care costs.

Judge Roger ter Haar QC said the ruling was "entirely sensible".

Although the driver was able to be traced in this case, the Motor Insurers' Bureau may still be able to compensate hit and run victims for whom this was not possible.ADNFCR-2347-ID-800253723-ADNFCR
