Woman seeks legal advice after injury sustained at bus stop
A woman who broke both of her wrists after falling at a bus stop is seeking legal advice to see if she is eligible for personal injury compensation.

Pensioner Jean Ryder had been attempting to catch a bus in Burslem so she could go to play bingo, the Staffordshire Sentinel reports.

However, as she tried to climb aboard the vehicle, she slipped on loose concrete and gravel that she claims had been left overnight as a result of improvement projects taking place on the road.

Ms Ryder alleges that the bus stop looked "like a building site", with lumps of aggregate everywhere.

She suffered two broken wrists and had to remain in plaster for a month.

"The injuries have had a big impact on my everyday life. It's a struggle just to eat and drink," the grandmother commented.

A spokesperson from Stoke-on-Trent City Council said it is investigating the incident.

Anyone injured in a fall on a public footpath or highway may be eligible to seek personal injury compensation and should discuss the matter with a solicitor. It may be a good idea to take photographs of the site of the accident as proof.
