Family considers legal action after pub fall death
A family whose son died after falling down a flight of stairs in a Norwich bar is considering legal action.

Dean Clark, 20, had been on a night out with his brother at the Shoosh Bar in Prince of Wales Road on July 24th last year, the Norwich Evening News reports.

He was found at the bottom of the stairs which led to the nightspot's toilets in the early hours of the morning and was taken to hospital, but he was pronounced dead the next day due to brain damage.

An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive has since raised concerns that the bar's stairs were unsafe.

Mr Clark's family said that although he had been drinking, he was not drunk when he fell.

"The family could pursue a civil remedy for the death of their son through compensation," a legal representative commented.

Under the Occupiers Liability Act 1957, any occupier of premises owes a duty of care to all visitors and must keep them reasonably safe by law.
