Car crash paralysis victim seeks personal injury compensation
A man who was paralysed in a car crash is taking legal action against the driver in a bid to claim personal injury compensation.

Darren Best was a passenger in a car being driven by Damion Smyth in April 2008, according to the Northampton Chronicle.

Mr Smyth is alleged to have driven right across a junction and hit a car on the other side of the road before crashing into a building.

His passenger's injuries were so serious that he has been confined to a wheelchair and can no longer play the sports he once enjoyed.

Mr Best also has other health problems which require him to take daily painkillers and he cannot work.

The victim is suing the driver for not giving way at the junction and failing to keep a proper lookout while at the wheel and hopes to claim £300,000 for his future care needs.

It was recently reported by the Salisbury Journal that a woman had been forced to claim personal injury compensation against her husband's insurers after he crashed the car they were both in.

Carol Coleman said she needed the payout because her injuries mean she is unable to work.
