Essex motorcyclist seeks personal injury compensation after crash

An Essex man who was injured in a motorbike crash is seeking compensation from the motorist he claims is responsible.

Nicky Lambert, 34, was riding his bike in September 2009 and had tried to turn right when he was struck by a Ford Mondeo being driven by Alan Murphy.

He was knocked off the bike and both of his ankles were broken when Mr Murphy ran over him.

Mr Lambert had to have metal plates inserted into his feet and still suffers from limited mobility and pain.

He is seeking £250,000 is compensation from Mr Murphy amid allegations that the driver had not been paying proper attention to the road at the time of the crash, resulting in him not seeing the motorbike rider.

Mr Murphy declined to comment on the legal action.

According to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, motorcyclists make up one in five road deaths and serious injuries.
