Man lodges personal injury claim after car crash
A man who once frequently played polo with Prince Harry has lodged a personal injury compensation claim after alleging that a car crash wrecked his career.

Jay Jones, 21, was a promising player at Hurtwood Park Polo Club in Surrey and hoped to pursue an international career in the sport, the Mirror reports.

However, in March 2004, he accepted a lift home from teammate Peter Woods, who lost control on a bend and hit a tree.

Mr Jones had to have a metal rod surgically implanted into his leg to repair the damage he sustained and was forced to miss training for several months, causing him to miss out on being picked for an international team.

He has since launched legal action against Mr Woods for pain, suffering and future lost earnings, alleging that he was negligent for not foreseeing the danger the road presented.

The victim hopes to secure £300,000 in compensation.

It was recently reported that a man from Walsall, who was also the passenger in a car which crashed, had been awarded £11.1 million after being partially paralysed in an accident that was found to be the driver's fault.
