Stay-at-home dads 'more likely to divorce' |
A new study has shown stay-at-home fathers could be more likely to file for divorce.
Published in the American Journal of Sociology, the research found there was an increased chance of men who remain in the house instead of going to work splitting from their partners.
Males in this category were equally likely to file for divorce themselves or receive a request from their spouse.
However, whether or not a woman stayed at home had no impact on her chances of separation, the investigation revealed.
Earlier this year, research conducted by the Co-operative found disputes over who gets custody of pets are becoming increasingly common among couples going through divorce proceedings, suggesting animals have become an important part of the family.
