Judge orders 'cooling-off period' in bitter divorce case
A judge at London's High Court has ordered a six-month break in a bitter divorce battle in order to give both sides the chance to cool off and think about the process calmly.

Scott Young and his ex-wife Michelle have been involved in a legal battle for five years, with Mr Young claiming he has lost his fortune and Mrs Young insisting he is concealing it.

Earlier this month, the case took a bizarre turn when Mrs Young accused Simon Cowell and Sir Philip Green of helping Mr Young, a former 'fixer', to hide large amounts of cash in tax havens under pseudonyms.

He was ordered in 2009 to pay his ex-wife £27,500 a month in maintenance, but has so far not paid anything.

According to the Independent, Mr Justice Mostyn has now adjourned the case until October to provide breathing space during which an agreement can be reached.

Seeking help from a specialist family law solicitor may help people who find themselves involved in an acrimonious divorce.
