Oligarch's wife wins Court of Appeal battle over divorce assets |
The ex-wife of a Russian oligarch has won part of her battle to claim some of his assets as part of a divorce settlement.
Janna Kremen and Boris Agrest lived together in a mansion in Surrey until 2007, when their marriage disintegrated, the Metro reports.
She claims he tried to leave her and their three children destitute and attempted to hide assets so that she could not lay claim to them.
Ms Kremen look legal action and it has now been agreed that the £4 million home should form part of his £700 million fortune after judges agreed the sale of it had been a "sham".
Top family law judge Sir Nicholas Wall said: "[Mr Agrest] has done his best to divest himself of any assets which could be the subject of a claim."
Ms Kremen will now continue her legal action to seek half of her ex-husband's fortune, but she said she will be "happy with £10 million".
In a similar case concluded last month, Victoria Jones succeeded in having her £5 million divorce settlement upped to £8 million after arguing that ex-husband Gareth had hid some of his estate.
