Ronnie and Jo Wood's divorce 'has been finalised'

The divorce of Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood and his wife Jo has been finalised, he said this week.

Speaking at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards, the musician revealed that the paperwork was signed off yesterday (January 25th 2011) and they are now officially divorced.

"I'm going to meet Jo this week very amicably … it's important that it's amicable and we're still great pals," the rocker commented.

The Woods separated in July 2008 after Ronnie began an affair with Russian model Ekaterina Ivanova.

It was widely reported in November 2009 that the couple would have a 'quickie' divorce, with Jo set to be paid an estimated £6.5 million settlement and the split formalised within six weeks.

However, Jo claimed recently in an interview with the Telegraph that she had still not received the money due to various hold-ups.

It may therefore be important for anyone considering a divorce not to be misled by reports in the media about how quickly the process can be carried out and to seek the advice of a family law solicitor as soon as possible.
