Getting a divorce 'is healthier than staying in an unhappy marriage' |
Couples in unsatisfying marriages have been advised that seeking a family law solicitor to obtain a divorce may be the only viable option to take.
Christina Tait, founder and manager of DivorceAid.co.uk, said that people who have been in unhappy marriages for long periods of time no longer need to settle for unfulfilling relationships but can easily obtain a divorce to start new and successful lives.
Couples considering a divorce were advised to seek out sound legal advice from a qualified family law solicitor, as well as to get their financial paperwork in good order.
"Advice from [an] Independent Financial Adviser can be very helpful too," Ms Tait added.
"Don't leave a marriage without discussion or a short-term plan for your spouse and for yourself.
Potential divorcees were also urged to make good use of the wealth of information freely available on the internet, perhaps including information published on the KCJ website. A recent survey from Saga found that one in four people cites a lack of sex as their main reason for obtaining a divorce.
