Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren confirm divorce has been finalised |
A statement published by Tiger Woods has formally confirmed the sports star's divorce from Elin Nordegren. Issued via Woods' official website on Monday (August 23rd), it said the couple's six-year marriage had been dissolved in a judgement at the Bay County (Florida) Circuit Court. "We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future," Woods and Nordegren said in a joint statement. Following the divorce, the world's top golfer and his former wife said they will be involved in the "shared parenting" of their two young children. Their marriage was rocked by a string of revelations relating to Woods' personal life in November last year. Following a car accident outside the 34-year-old's luxury Florida property, several women came forward to claim they had affairs with him. Earlier this month, it was reported that Nordegren is set to receive the family home as part of the divorce settlement, with Woods moving to a new property nearby.
