Peter Andre 'was disappointed about divorce'
Peter Andre has said he regrets that his marriage to former glamour model Katie Price ended in divorce.

The singer and TV presenter told the Sun that he had hoped to be married for as long as his mum and dad - who have so far been united for 55 years - when he tied the knot.

"Not having a successful marriage is a regret. I come from a family that believes in long marriages," he commented.

Andre added he also finds it difficult that Price has custody of their children, as he misses them when they are apart, but said he tries to make the most of any time they do spend together.

The celebrity couple was officially divorced in March this year after four-and-a-half years of marriage.

In April 2010, a poll by Fifties.co.uk found that it takes an average of 17 months and 26 days to get over a divorce.

Neale Grearson, a family law specialist at Kester Cunningham John, adds: "The regrets expressed by Peter Andre are common in situations of a marriage or relationship breaking down - however long the marriage or famous the husband and wife. Dealing with these emotions can be very difficult and many people looking back with hindsight afterwards do not think they behaved well in the conduct of the divorce.

"Keeping control of the process is important, rather than lawyers and the courts taking over. That means keeping control of the emotions too and trying to find an outcome that is in the interests of all, especially any children.

"Collaborative Law is now a vital option for many couples looking for this additional control and who want to try to find a constructive solution to any issues. We can offer individual advice, or you can find more information on the Resolution website at www.resolution.org.uk."
