Family law solicitors 'are the best people to help with divorce'

Seeking the advice of a family law solicitor is the best way to ensure an uncomplicated, relatively stress-free divorce.

Legal adviser Nicola Matthews explained in an interview with North East Business that people with experience in this field will be able to help with all areas of the split, from financial matters to mediation and communication.

She pointed out that solicitors will be able to assist with the complicated matter of compiling a list of assets, which can cause legal problems if done alone.

"Don't dissipate assets … A court will take a dim view of this and can penalise you when making a final financial order," Ms Matthews commented.

The expert recommended keeping the split as amicable as possible wherever children are involved.

It was revealed this week that Cheryl Cole is keen to have her divorce from estranged husband Ashley finalised before the kick-off of the World Cup tournament on June 11th.
