Adrian Chiles 'gets quickie divorce' |
A divorce settlement has reportedly been reached between television host Adrian Chiles and Radio 4 presenter Jane Garvey.
The broadcasters were married for 11 years before parting company in June 2008.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair have been granted a so-called quickie divorce, which will allow Garvey to stay in their million-pound property in London.
Chiles, who has two daughters with the Woman's Hour host, is understood to be worth about £4 million and will share custody of the children with his ex-wife.
The TV presenter, who fronts The One Show with Christine Bleakley, has not made an official comment.
Meanwhile, Garvey told reporters: "I have always said I am not going to say anything and I won't."
This coincides with a study from the Schools Health Education Unit, which found that about one in five children live in single-parent homes.
Figures showed that most of these live with their mother, while four per cent divide their time between both parents.
Fiona Bethel, a Family Partner at Kester Cunningham John Solicitors (KCJ) comments: "It seems that Adrian Chiles and Jane Garvey have done much to dispel the myth that some celebrity divorces only end in acrimony as they have navigated their way towards an agreed settlement out of court and at a reasonable pace.
"This may be because they have instructed specialist family solicitors who are Resolution members and/or collaboratively trained, as are the Family Team at KCJ.
"We strive towards supporting families in relationship breakdown towards an amicable, constructive and cost effective outcome."
