According to a Law Society press release issued yesterday they were. Fiona Bethel, who heads the family law team at KCJ comments: "I entirely agree with the Law Society that couples should consult specialist family lawyers to try to obtain the best outcome for the family. Resolution specialists can assist separating parents to focus on what is best for the children such as communicating future child care arrangements and the introduction of new partners. Resolution's aim is always to help parents to protect children as far as possible during the breakdown of a relationship. It is with this more communicative and constructive approach in mind that we often recommend the collaborative law route as an alternative to traditional divorce and/or encourage parents to get involved in 'Parenting after Parting' initiatives, one of which is being run in East Anglia."
