Seeking employment law advice 'can help to avoid tribunals'
Companies and their workers have been told that taking employment law advice can potentially play a key role in preventing legal disputes from arising.

Employment initiative Work Wise UK has called for those involved in business to ensure they take advantage of all the information available to them in order to keep informed of their rights and responsibilities.

According to the not-for-profit group, this can lessen the chance of a dispute leading to an employment tribunal.

The recommendation comes in response to the recent launch of the government's Pay and Work Rights helpline, which is aimed at providing advice on issues such as minimum wage, working hours and acceptable conditions.

Phil Flaxton, chief executive officer of Work Wise UK, stated that the introduction of the helpline would provide another outlet through which professionals can find legal support.

However, he stated that any such measures will only prove useful if employers "have the wherewithal to go and find the information in the first place".ADNFCR-2347-ID-19379006-ADNFCR
