Man wins
A man who was turned down for a job with the NHS because of his disability has won £25,000 in compensation.

Dale Morgan was working on a temporary basis for Northamptonshire Primary Care Trust, but the offer of a permanent position was withdrawn due to his Asperger's Syndrome.

Mr Morgan explained he hopes speaking out will encourage others to fight against similar disability discrimination they may have experienced.

"With all the resources at the trust's disposal, I am shocked that they chose to handle the situation in the way they did," he said.

Mr Morgan claims he had tried to contact the trust to find out why the job offer had been withdrawn, but was not able to get a reason.

Dan Robotham, senior researcher at the Mental Health Foundation, recently claimed that despite the existence of employment law making it illegal, there is still discrimination in the workplace against those with a disability.
