TUC launches new employment law advisory resource
Workers wanting to learn more about their rights under British employment law may wish to consult a new resource on offer from the Trades Union Congress (TUC).

Last Friday (August 5th), the body - which represents more than six million employees - unveiled its Basic Rights @ Work microsite, a portal designed specifically for individuals with little knowledge about their fundamental professional entitlements.

It is hoped the site will give people the opportunity to gain insight on how they can implement their rights via statutory enforcement organisations.

In terms of content, this resource contains details on how bodies such as the Employment Agencies Standard Inspectorate and the Health and Safety Executive operate.

Frances O'Grady, deputy general secretary at the TUC, commented that "thousands of people around the UK are exploited" every day, meaning the website could be a "vital tool to help workers and their union reps secure a fair deal".

Individuals who think they may have a claim under employment law can get advice from the team at Kester Cunningham John.
