53 per cent of employees feel they have been discriminated against
A new poll has discovered that more than half of UK employees feel they have been discriminated against at work.

The survey, carried out by HR consultancy firm Reabur.com, saw 53 per cent of people report some form of discrimination, with 76 per cent of them women.

Gender was the biggest factor in terms of being prejudiced against, with 68 per cent agreeing they had experienced this, while 57 per cent had felt singled out because of their size.

Some 13 per cent of employees reported having left a job in the past because of discrimination.

Reabur.com spokesperson Kirsty Burgess said: "Feeling discriminated against in the workplace is a serious matter and should be addressed straight away. No employee should feel as though they aren't treated equally for any reason."

This comes after the Employers Forum on Age found that one in three older people has experienced discrimination during the recruitment process.
