Sacked Andy Gray 'may launch unfair dismissal claim'
The employment law surrounding the sacking of sports broadcaster Andy Gray could be explored after it was revealed that the former footballer may make a claim for unfair dismissal.

Gray, who is one of the most recognisable commentators in football, was overheard talking off-air with fellow Sky Sports presenter Richard Keyes and making derogatory remarks about a female assistant referee, with the pair unaware that their microphones were still switched on and the exchange was being taped.

The Scot was relieved of his post on Tuesday (January 25th 2011), but a source has told the Mirror that he plans to sue his former employers for unfair dismissal.

"He feels very down, upset and a little embarrassed about everything - exactly how you would feel if you had just been sacked from a job you loved," the unnamed person was quoted as saying.

The publication claimed that Gray hopes to utilise regulations within employment law to secure a £3 million payout from Sky Sports.
