BA to face employment law tribunals?
British Airways (BA) could soon be facing employment law grievance cases from its staff, the results of a new survey have suggested.

A poll carried out in November 2010 by Unite showed that 49.9 per cent of respondents at the firm claim to have been bullied or victimised at work.

Of these, half said their senior managers were to blame, while 22 per cent said they suffered at the hands of their peers, People Management reports.

Two-thirds said no action was taken by BA to resolve the matter, which could mean employees are able to make compensation claims as a result of their treatment.

Unite criticised the "macho management" culture within the airline.

General secretary Tony Woodley commented: "BA's management urgently needs to do a corporate U-turn and sit down with Unite representatives to address this bullying epidemic."

BA said it "utterly refutes" the claims made by Unite.

This comes after the company reported an 8.3 per cent fall in revenue per passenger kilometre year-on-year in December 2010.ADNFCR-2347-ID-800335521-ADNFCR
