Survey reveals employees may be losing faith at work

A new study has shown that a quarter of employees no longer trust their managers, while one-fifth are feeling less engaged in their job than they used to.

The poll, carried out by Ceridian, also revealed six out of ten British workers are tired, demotivated and feeling as though they may burn out.

Some 37 per cent reported that their pay or bonuses had been frozen, while 40 per cent said they are finding their work-life balance harder to maintain.

Ceridian spokesperson Steve Joyce warned employees' health and productivity could suffer if something is not done.

"At the back end of a recession, trust is now more important than ever. It could be the deciding factor in businesses turning themselves around or going under," he added.

This comes after a survey by Randstad earlier this month found many employees may not have time to take their holiday entitlements, potentially resulting in a breach of employment law.
