Employment law 'should be family-friendly'
Employment law needs to be revised in order to make it more family-friendly, according to a new report.

The Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) believes that less than one in eight mothers would work full-time if they had the option.

Meanwhile, nearly one in three mums said they would prefer not to be in employment at all after having a child.

Report author Cristina Odone has therefore said employment law should focus less on issues such as women's rights and be more family-friendly.

Speaking to BBC News, Ms Odone commented: "The government has been getting more women into full-time work and getting more work out of those women."

She added that women who put home and community before work are seen by the government as a "subversive" group.

This comes after the Fawcett Society claimed that females who are in a job still tend to receive lower salaries than their male counterparts.ADNFCR-2347-ID-19402231-ADNFCR
