Court of Appeal to resolve dispute over patch of lawn
Two neighbours are to take a dispute regarding a small patch of lawn to one of the highest courts in the UK.

Dr Robert Welding and Martin Charalambous have been locked in a legal battle regarding who owns an area measuring seven square yards.

A county court had initially ruled the land was within the limits of Dr Welding's property and that he was the rightful owner.

But Mr Charalambous, a restaurateur who lives next door, has been given the opportunity to challenge the decision at the Court of Appeal in London.

According to Her Majesty’s Court Service, the Court of Appeal is widely regarded as the "engine room" of the UK’s judicial system.

"The reason we have fought it is because it is in front of our house and invades our privacy," Mr Charalambous commented.

He added that his attempts at dispute resolution over the last two years have been very difficult for him and his partner.
