Buying a business 'could be ideal for people who want to improve companies'
People who think they will be able to build on and improve a company's existing strategy may wish to think about buying a business rather than starting one from scratch.

This is the advice of Mark Robotham, general manager of Escalator Investment Ready Service, who told Stuff.co.nz that people need to think about what skills they already have before taking the plunge.

He explained that those who like to follow current processes but make them better could find that purchasing a company that is already up and running is perfect.

"There might be some "stressed" businesses for sale that need a major makeover - drive hard on the deal making and get expert advice. You might be able to get a bargain," Mr Robotham commented.

In January 2011, entrepreneur Andrew Rogerson told SME News and Information that no question is stupid when it comes to buying a business, as the firm must be considered from every angle to ensure it is financially viable.
