Going online could make starting a business easier
Anyone looking to start a business could consider making it an online operation, one expert has said.

Richard Dodd from the British Retail Consortium said doing this will be easier than setting up a bricks and mortar business because initial expenditure will be much lower.

However, he warned that there will still be costs, particularly if the company is able to increase in size.

"Obviously other sorts of costs, like distribution and staff, will inevitably grow if the business is going to expand," Mr Dodd said.

The expert added that a distinct advantage of operating online is that the business plan can be quickly changed to offer something different if things are not going well.

This comes after research from Kelkoo found that UK shoppers spent more online than any other European nation during 2010.

Despite the relative ease of setting up online, anyone considering a start-up should seek specialist legal advice from an experienced solicitor such as the team at KCJ to avoid potential pitfalls.
