Government urged to reveal Prince Charles' input into planning law

The government has been urged to reveal the input Prince Charles has had into planning law.

According to the Guardian, Lady Andrews, a Labour communities minister, wrote to the royal's private secretary Sir Michael Peat to inform him of changes to regulations that "affect the interests of the Duchy of Cornwall".

Labour peer Lord Berkeley, who was ordered to seek the prince's consent over a bill on marine navigation, has told the government to reveal all correspondence between Lady Andrews and Prince Charles regarding planning law.

He stated that information should be published regarding any amendments to bills made on the recommendation of the royal, but a spokesman for the Department for Communities said no changes had been requested.

The National Trust's director of conservation Peter Nixon recently told the Daily Telegraph that planning reform laws need to consider the needs of society as a whole.

The team at Ashton KCJ are on hand to offer advice regarding planning law.
