Clinical negligence claims are being launched by several families over the treatment of mothers at Furness General Hospital's maternity ward.

Each case is thought to be at a different stage of progress against the Barrow centre, which is run by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

The Westmorland Gazette reports that one father from Furness has launched his claim with the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
