Ashton KCJ hosts reception for 60 guests to celebrate the official launch of Red Rose Chain’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
The scene was set and the evening began with a surprise performance by Red Rose Chain actors – who gave the guests a first hand preview of the latest production. This was quickly followed by the premier of a thirty second short film trailer displayed on screens.
Theatre in the Forest, now entering its second decade, played to over 9,000 people in 2009 and this year’s production will be the largest yet.
“We’re gathered in the ‘forest’ tonight to celebrate our sponsorship of the Red Rose Chain, a dynamic company whose talent and passion have given the region a new way of experiencing Shakespeare and the arts”
“As a local legal firm, we feel it is important to both play a part, as well as give something back to our community. The Red Rose Chain has similar ideals. It not only produces the Theatre in the Forest events, but works closely in the community by developing film and workshop programmes with schools, youth groups, prison inmates, young people in care, single parents and former drug users from the Iceni Project.”
“Ashton KCJ’s sponsorship underpins the work we do in the community and this summer’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will run for five weeks – our longest ever run.”
“We’re also thrilled to announce tonight, that Red Rose Chain is moving to Gippeswyk Hall – where we will be able to operate and expand as an organisation. We look forward to bringing new life to the historical building and to inviting more people to get involved in theatre.”
A Midsummer Night’s Dream will take place from 28 July to 29 August at Rendlesham Forest – to book tickets, go to www.redrosechain.com
