An Advance Decision, sometimes better known as a “Living Will” is a document in which you can set out what medical treatment you would or would not wish to have in the future, if, at that point you were unable to make your own views known. This may include the wish that you would not wish to be kept alive by artificial means.

Advance Decisions have been recognised by law since 2007, and are becoming increasingly popular. However they do require care and professional guidance.
