Online Divorce Services

Online Divorce
Ashton KCJ has a team of specialist family lawyers throughout East Anglia. Clients choose us to support and advise them in often the most complex of cases as we offer a bespoke and efficient service.

However, we recognise that the actual divorce aspect is often fairly straight forward and that many clients may wish to conduct their own divorce, in an effort to save legal costs. We are pleased to offer our online divorce service that allows the client to take charge of their own proceedings with the comfort of knowing that we have checked over the documentation, and that we are supporting the client remotely throughout the process.

Our online divorce service is likely to be most suited to couples who both agree to divorce and where the proceedings are not likely to be contested by either party. The service consists of several stages which will guide you through the process, culminating in obtaining your Decree Absolute which ends the marriage. This is a cost-effective service, with the benefit of having our expertise to check your documentation and ensure the paperwork will be approved by the court.

If the divorce is likely to be defended by one party, then the online service will not be suitable, but we are happy to support and advise you on a face-to-face basis.

Financial matters
As well as obtaining your divorce, it is important to appreciate that spouses have financial claims against each other that need to be addressed in tandem with the divorce. Although our online divorce service can support you through the divorce process, it will be necessary to obtain direct advice in relation to financial matters. Importantly, you should make sure that your financial arrangements have been agreed by the court before you obtain your Decree Absolute, otherwise your former spouse could be entitled to money you obtain after the divorce is finalised. Each case is different and we are happy to offer our bespoke service so that we can advise you further as to your individual case. Please contact us direct so we can advise you further as to what is required.

Children
Where spouses can agree the arrangements for any children on divorce, there is little need for the court to become involved, other than a simple form filling exercise, which both parents should sign. Our online divorce service supports you with the completion of that form and is covered in the overall service. Where there are disagreements as to the children, it may be necessary for you to contact us so that we can offer tailored advice to your particular circumstances. We welcome you to contact us direct click here to contact one of the team. We will then be able to advise you further as to what's required and how much it will cost.

Wills
When separating or getting divorced it is vital that you also make a new Will or review your existing one to ensure it reflects your current wishes. Our online Will service may be appropriate for you or we can discuss your particular needs with you directly.
