Personal Injury

Injuries can have catastrophic affects on people's lives. They can affect a person's ability to work and leave a person in need of specialist and continuing medical treatment, care and rehabilitation and to assist with day to day living and recovery. It is therefore imperative that the right legal team is working for you in the pursuit of your compensation. We believe that we are that team.

Claiming compensation can be complicated. We will help you through the process as quickly and smoothly as possible. We use plain language and will ensure you know what is going on.

Everyone has different problems and needs - We will work with you to achieve the results you want within the legal framework. You will be part of the team in reaching those goals.

We will do more than just hand you a cheque. We are there to help you recover as much quality of life as possible. We are keen to help you through the maze of medical and theapeutic rehabilitation and we have access to many of the best providers.

We obtain interim payments where possible to replace lost income and help you access aids or treatment (not always available under the NHS).

We do all we can to speed up claims. We can ask the Court to make a decision on liability at an early stage and leave the valuation of the claim until the time is right. In a recent quadriplegic case the time from accident to judgment on liability was eight months.

We have a specialist Client Funds Management Team to deal with the affairs of clients who are unable to manage their own financial affairs, through injury or otherwise. Where a Receiver has been appointed by the Court of Protection, they deal not only with day to day running of households and care packages but also the long term interests of clients. The team is also involved in ensuring that clients can and do receive independent professional financial advice when they receive their settlements so that the money is put to the best possible use to meet their needs.

Legal 500 (an independent publication commenting on top firms in the UK) has put our team first, in a category of our own, each year since 1996.

Ashton KCJ is “a top-class firm with top-class practitioners”, notably Ruth Booy, who is noted for her “excellent strategic thinking”; Hannah Rutterford, who is ‘bright, and highly regarded by other PI lawyers’; Simon Davis (“organised and calm”); and Justina Molloy (“absolutely fantastic”). Recent work includes a £2.5m RTA claim. - Legal 500

....the ‘very thorough’ Robert Gair is ‘the consummate lawyer in PI cases’. Richard Foyster and Michael Wangermann are praised for their dedication and clear communication. The team is lauded for its ‘common-sense approach’ and its ease ‘in dealing with complex issues’; it is ‘always polite and prompt, and the level of service is excellent.’  - Legal 500

In recognition of our expertise, the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) has awarded us Corporate Accreditation. A number of our lawyers are recognised as accredited members and others, the highly regarded status of senior litigator.
