Sandra Patton

Sandra is Head of the Ashton KCJ Medical Injury team. She has specialised in claimant clinical negligence law since 1991.
Sandra has conducted many high value and high profile cases, getting 'great results from difficult cases' and attracting national publicity, and has won record damages in a clinical negligence case. She has extensive experience in cancer cases and birth injury cases and has dealt with claims across a broad range of medical treatment. Recent settlements include acceleration of liver transplant and cerebral palsy claims.

Sandra has campaigned in recent years to publicise the plight of NHS patients who were referred to private hospitals under the Government's initiative to cut waiting lists, and who suffered injury during surgery carried out by visiting surgeons, to ensure those accepting such treatment in the future are properly informed and to highlight how the initiative can compromise patient safety. She commentated in local and national media on the issue and was a chief contributer to the production and filming of a BBC documentary. Sandra has written and presented training for GPs and Citizens Advice Bureaux advisors. She is a member of the Law Society's Clinical Negligence Panel and AvMA's Clinical Negligence Panel and is an APIL Senior Litigator.
